Erik-Jan Kamsteeg has a PhD in medical sciences, with aspects of renal disease, molecular biology and physiology. In 2009, he finished his training as a laboratory specialist clinical genetics in Nijmegen. Since then, he has specialized in the fields of neuromuscular and renal disorders. Nowadays, exome sequencing analyses for movement, muscle, and renal disorders are his daily occupation. He is leading a project to further implement and organize large scale exome sequencing data interpretation and reporting. Both Dutch and international clients make use of the diagnostic services of the department of Human Genetics Nijmegen for their Sanger sequencing, semiconductor sequencing, exome sequencing, or exome sequencing interpretation-only tests.
